Alexander James Owen

Alexander Owen (b. 1996) lives and works in London. Through his work Owen explores the connection between new digital media and painting through the lens of contemporary queer culture. Using signifiers and objects that hold relevance to a shared queer experience, these works looks at the way objects can interact and behave outside of what would be possible in the real world.
His recent works have a focus on hardware, tools and the machismo of trade; exploring the prevalent link between these themes and queer culture both in current times and past.
