NIGHTBREED

They only come out at night.

The queer, the straight, the horrible.

Night Crawlers.

Bending the rules in the pale moon light.

Making the best of the dark.

The shadows are beautiful and romantic.

Full of flaws and full of fear.

This is where the fun is at.

What is below and what hides beneath is just a mirror to all that’s pretty from above.

But down here, in the comfort of the quiet gutter, there is no evil since we all belong.

Based on the poem “Nightbreed,” this exhibition celebrates the night as the ultimate equalizer. While the daylight demands perfection and adherence to rules, the darkness offers a “velvet sanctuary” for the outsiders—the queer, the straight, and the beautifully flawed.

The exhibition explores the paradox that there is no evil in the dark when everyone belongs. It transforms the “quiet gutter” into a space of romantic rebellion, proving that what hides beneath the surface is simply a mirror to the beauty above, stripped of judgment.
